Informations

American Airlines is a US airline, headquartered in Dallas, Texas. When you consider the number of destinations offered, the fleet and the amount of passengers carried each year, American Airlines is the largest airline in the world ahead of United Airlines.

American Airlines’ fleet is the largest in the world since the takeover of US Airways in 2016. Specifically, it is made up of 948 aircraft manufactured, mostly, by Boeing. However, in recent times, the company has also decided to renew its fleet with models from Airbus. The largest is a spectacular Boeing 777-300 ER with a capacity of 310 passengers.

On April 15, 1926 it was Charles Lindebergh who led the first American Airlines flight (In 1927 Charles Lindbergh made the first solo and non-stop crossing of the Atlantic: New York-Paris)

American Airlines offers each passenger the opportunity to carry one hand luggage and one personal item in the aircraft cabin. Personal items are laptops, handbags, backpacks, etc.
The only requirement is that these items can be placed under the front seat during the flight. In some cases, the company may require that the sum of height, width and depth does not exceed 91 cm.

The maximum dimensions of hand baggage when flying with American Airlines are 56 cm x 35 cm x 23 cm. If they are exceeded, the passenger must ask the company to check in the baggage, paying the corresponding fare.
In the event that a flight hosts a large number of passengers, the company can decide to check the hand baggage of some of them free of charge in the hold.
